The 21st death anniversary of renowned ghazal singer Parvez Mehdi was observed on Saturday.

He was born on August 14, 1947, in Lahore.

Parvez Mehdi received musical training from J.A. Farooq and Mehdi Hassan.

The Government of Pakistan awarded Parvez Mehdi the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.

During his thirty-year career, Parvez Mehdi sang hundreds of songs.

He died on this day in 2005 at the age of 58 in Lahore.
