China has successfully launched its crewed Shenzhou-23 spacecraft and docked it with the Tiangong space station.
The launch marks another major step in China’s plan to send astronauts to the Moon by 2030.
During the mission, one Chinese astronaut will spend a full year in orbit for the first time as part of research linked to the country’s future lunar programme.
