Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal has warmly welcomed the historic peace agreement between the United States and Iran, terming it a major victory for diplomacy, dialogue and wisdom over conflict and confrontation.

In a post on social media platform X today, he congratulated the leadership of both the countries for demonstrating statesmanship and choosing the path of peace.

Ahsan Iqbal said this agreement offers renewed hope for stability, economic recovery and prosperity across the Middle East and beyond.

The Planning Minister said Pakistan played a historic role in facilitating dialogue and building trust between the parties. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan consistently advocated engagement and peaceful resolution of disputes.

He also acknowledge the important contribution of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, whose efforts and support for regional peace reinforced Pakistan's credibility as a trusted facilitator.

Ahsan Iqbal said this achievement reaffirms Pakistan's enduring commitment to peace, dialogue and regional stability.

He said may this agreement mark the beginning of a new chapter of cooperation, harmony and shared prosperity for the region and the world.
