
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif says the government is making all-out and collective efforts to achieve its mission of export-led economic development in the country.
He was talking to a delegation of senior leadership from Chambers of Commerce and Industry from across the country in Islamabad on Monday.
The Prime Minister said the economy has been stabilized through persistent hard work and these efforts will continue to ensure faster economic development.
He said more steps will be taken in the upcoming budget to promote industrial development and production.
The Prime Minister directed that the head office of Pakistan Revenue Automation Limited be shifted to Karachi to facilitate the business community.
He also directed for the opening of a passport office in Gujrat on the request of overseas Pakistanis and the business community.
The Prime Minister said introducing reforms and facilitating the development of Small and Medium Enterprises sector is part of the government's economic agenda.
He said Pakistani investors should promote local production of electric vehicles through joint ventures.
On the occasion, the delegation reiterated that the business community of the country stands with the government in supporting economic development and employment growth.
The delegation also extended business community's support to the government to bring the grey economy within the ambit of the formal economy through digitalization and other reforms.
The delegation’s members appreciated the government's initiatives like reforms in the board of the Export Development Fund, successful privatization of PIA, digitization of the FBR and e-invoicing.
The delegation presented suggestions to the Prime Minister regarding the upcoming budget and the overall economic development of the country.
